Low-sulfur, high-quality cooked coke, such as needle coke, is mainly used to manufacture ultra-high-power graphite electrodes and certain special carbon products; in the steelmaking industry, needle coke is an important material for the development of new electric furnace steelmaking technologies.
Medium sulfur, ordinary cooked coke is widely used in aluminum smelting.
High-sulfur, ordinary green coke is used in chemical production, such as manufacturing calcium carbide, silicon carbide, etc., and is also used as fuel for metal casting.
With the rapid development of my country's cement, electrolytic silver, steel and thermal power industries, the demand for low-sulfur petroleum coke has increased sharply. However, with the increasingly stringent environmental protection policies, the use of high-sulfur petroleum coke has been greatly restricted. Therefore, my country's petroleum coke market will face a shortage of low-sulfur petroleum coke and a serious surplus of high-sulfur petroleum coke in the future.
